WORKS COMMENCE ONSITE

Work commenced on Monday 25th October to turn back a piece of land known as ‘Town Wall’ which is in Wilnecote, Tamworth to the community resource it used to be rather than an unmanaged, unused site.

Town Wall Conservation Group (TWCG) will maintain the site with the support from Staffordshire Wildlife Trust through the Wild About Tamworth project and Tamworth Borough Council.

The improvements which include re-levelling and widening of the two public footpaths, improving the main entrance at Sycamore, re-grading and landscaping to create a wild flower meadow and creating a narrow woodland path.

The next phase of the project will see notice boards, interpretation boards, benches and litter bins installed together with planting of trees and wild flowers.

Works are expected to be fully completed by summer 2011 with an official opening planned for July / August 2011
