WELCOME TO THE NEW MAYOR OF FAZELEY

The New Mayor of Fazeley has been selected for the year 2008/2009 and that is Cllr Robert Pritchard.   Robert was elected onto to Fazeley Town Council in 2007 and has been working hard for the Fazeley Community, he spear headed a probation board project that saw an derelict and unsightly piece of land on Victory Terrace cleared for the local residents.

We wish Robert well in his Mayoral Year who has decided to pick the Staffordshire Air Ambulance Service as his charity

HOPES RAISED TO REMOVE MAST

Anxious campaigners fighting the controversial Fazeley phone mast have been told they will have to cough up some cash if they want it removed.
But thats just half the battle.  First they will have to find a sound technical reason for taking it down, an alternative site and get the backing of the local authority.
The Glimmer of hope was raised at Fazeley Town Hall on Monday (June 9th) where residents met with O2's Angela Johnson to discuss the likely hood of actually getting the 15metre monstrosity removed.
There she was presented with 336 letters of objectin from protestors before answering their questions.
"We would be perfectly happy to work with a group to find a solution that would satisfy all parties, but it would have to be through the local council."
"It would cost £150,000 to move the mast. O2 would not be prepared to foot all that cost."
The fight took a significant step forward when it emerged that the mast's cabinet was larger than the dimensions outlined in planning,
If that was the case and replacing it would require planning consent" Angela admitted.
This avenue is being looked into by camaigners and Angela is taking away the questions and concerns raised at the meeting back to O2 for further investigation.  Committments made were an Independet Frequency survery of near by homes to test the admission waves from the mast, A check of the planning dimension to the planning consent, a look into the consultation that was carried with business and why they were not pursued further for alternative sighting of the mast.

Mayor Presents Mower to Local Church

The Mayor of Fazeley, Cllr Robert Pritchard, presented St Paul’s Church in Fazeley with a new lawnmower.

The new mover was donated by Fazeley Town Council as a replacement for the old lawn mover that was breaking down.

The mower is to be used by the Probation Service who maintains the church grounds and cemetery. Probation Service teams carry out work on the church grounds every Sunday.

Fazeley Mayor, Robert Pritchard said

St Paul’s Church as a big part of the Fazeley Community, the council supports the Church as much as it can. It’s also great to see the probation board doing good work in the community that gives something back.

Carol Graham of St Paul’s Church Parish Office said,

“I would like to say thanks to Fazeley Town Council for donating us a new lawnmower. Its great for the Church, great for the community and it’s great to Fazeley”
