Working Hard for you

Residents enjoyed a display of Talent and festivities at a recent celebration of thanks and presentation of the work that goes on in one of Wilnecotes most beloved community buildings.

The Thank You Celebrations where put on by the Senior Youth Group which meets on a Friday evening with ages ranging from 13 -19 years old. The event included a ‘Who’s Line is it anyway’ competition, a display of Dancing talents from the Delph Dancers who use the centre also on a Friday evening as well as refreshments, pool competition, raffle and craft sale.

Cllr Lee Bates compared the event which was attended by approximate 50 local residents.  “I was honoured and privileged to be asked to compare the celebration event and would like to personally thank all the youth who have worked so hard for the  event.  I would also like to pay tribute to the centre manager and the youth workers who provide such magnificent work with our youth giving them advice support and a place they enjoy coming to again and again, we are lucky to have them.”

“The Youth Centre only  has a reprieve until 2010 and although this is temporary good news we much not loose sight and keep fighting to keep the centre open as a youth provision base but also as a community building.” Cllr Bates added.
