Dosthill which is home to the towns only piece of Greenbelt classed land was given a little bit of hope for the future following the Conservative & Lib Dem Coalition Governments agreement to protecting greenbelt land.

Cllr Lee Bates on hearing the announcement immediately wrote to the towns Conservative MP Christopher Pincher for clarification on this issue and what it could mean for a piece of much loved greenbelt in the Dosthill area.

Cllr Lee Bates said “As always Chris responded promptly to this important issue and I fully support the contents of the Conservative Lib Dem proposals to protecting Greenbelt land as it contributes to the local area as well as service practical benefits to the town.”

“I am also pleased that the government are keen to give more planning control back to local authorities and its about time too so well done Chris and well done to these exciting new proposals for our communities.”
