After months of campaigning for improved 7.5 ton weight restriction signs on the old A5 Watling Street the county council have now revealed its designs for better awareness to lorry drivers of the restriction for safety of residents imposed along this road.

 

Cllr Lee Bates said “This has been a joint effort between local residents, councillors and the Highways agency to address this issue. We will be looking  for greater enforcement once the new signs have been  erected to get the message out that the safety of residents is paramount and companies flouting the system are not welcome and there will be consequences.”
