Tamworth Borough Member for Trinity Ward

Each County Council division in Staffordshire has been given its own Highways divisional plan.   The plan is an agreed set of funded works with the Highways department and your local County Councillor.  Cllr Lee Bates has launched the Watling South Highways divisional plan covering Wilnecote & Dosthill at the local Partners & Communities together resident meetings.

There are lots of community issues with our highways and there is a full list of these which sit with highways and over the term of county council 4 years this list with be prioritised with the Highways department.    Those put forward for this year by Cllr Lee Bates are Speed restrictions along Overwoods Road (Wilnecote), Sefton Road Speed bumps (Dosthill) and Dosthill High Street.   All community issues and the highways plan has been communicated to residents at local resident meetings.

Cllr Lee Bates said “The highways divisional plan is a public document agreed with Highways and myself for the Watling South Division it enables us to work in a constructive way to tackle local priorities on our highways.   All projects need to be funded and I am confident there is more chance of local issues being tackled through this method than just a reactionary approach.”

“The plan includes the lead officers name and contact details and residents can get regular updates on any of the projects on the plan.”  Click on the icon to download the Highways divisional plan for Watling South Division.
